10 Practical Ways to Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

Dear King's Daughter,

Praying for and supporting Israel might be the most powerful, yet puzzling, piece to living regally in reality as a King's daughter. As a Christian, you are a branch connected to the roots of Israel. The King has never stopped cherishing Israel as His chosen people and wants you to share His same compassion and love for her. Paul warns,“Do not boast against the branches ... remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you. I do not desire that you be ignorant of this mystery” (Rom. 11:11, 19, 25). The covenant God made with Abraham, the father of Israel, still stands today: “I will bless those that bless you. I will curse those that curse you” (Gen 12:3). God invites us to share His heart for the peace of Jerusalem. “Pray for the peace (shalom) of Jerusalem; they that love her shall prosper” (Ps. 122:6). As Israel comes under terrorist attacks, anti-Semitism and international pressure to divide her land, we are called to stand with her. “For whoever touches Israel touches the apple of God’s eye” (Zech. 2:8). The Lord also wants us to give to Israel. “For if the Gentiles have been partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister to them in material things” (Rom. 15:27). Align yourself with God’s heart and pray for the peace of Jerusalem right now! –Excerpt from Ginnie and Sarah's book, Trading Up for a King's Daughter.

10 Practical Ways to
Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

1.) Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.” Ps.122:6

2.) Pray that Israel’s land would not be divided

“I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land.” Joel 3:2 (God promises judgement on nations that divide His land)

3.) Pray Israel will be blessed

“‘I will bless them that bless thee and curse them that curse thee, and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Gen. 12:3

4.) Pray for Muslims in surrounding countries to know Jesus

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

5.) Pray for churches all over the world to honor their Jewish roots and stand up for Israel.

“Do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you (Christians) do not support the root (Israel), but the root (Israel) supports you (Christians). For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery,” Romans 11:18-21, 25, 29

6.) Pray for Israel’s salvation

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes, to the Jew first and then also to the Gentile.” Rom.1:16

7.) Pray for the American government to support Israel

"For whoever touches Israel touches the apple of God’s eye” Zechariah 2:8

8.) Pray for Israeli leaders and government

Pray that, like their ancestors, God provides a cloud by day and fire by night to lead the nation with wisdom and in accordance with God's Word. "By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night." Exodus 13:21-22

9.) Pray for believers to understand that we are fellow heirs with Israel and one in Christ

“For He [Messiah] is our peace, who has made us both one, [Jew & Gentile] and has broken down the dividing wall of hostility...that He might create in Himself one new man in place of he two...making Gentile believers fellow heirs with Israel.” Eph. 2:14-15, 3:6

10.) Pray for Israel's safety from all attacks
